The method behind the report

How the audit works.

Four steps from read access to a ranked plan your developer can act on. I deliver within 14 business days of data access.

The four steps.

The clock starts on the day I confirm, in writing, that your site brief has arrived and I can read your Search Console, not on the day you send the first enquiry. I take at most two audits a month.

01
Business days 1–3

Start with your site and your data.

You share read access to Search Console and analytics, three to five competitors, and what the site is for. I crawl the site and collect the data the audit needs.

I never need your passwords or write access.

02
Business days 4–8

Check technical SEO, content and AI search.

I review crawling, indexing, rendering, redirects, on-page elements, structured data, Core Web Vitals and Search Console data. I also record how the site appears in AI answers.

On large sites I work from templates and samples of pages. I record the coverage and limitations.

03
Business days 9–11

Separate useful findings from noise.

I check each finding against your data and competitors, set aside the ones that would change nothing, and rank the remaining recommendations by impact and effort.

Each fix identifies the affected URLs or templates and the number to watch.

04
Business days 12–14

Leave with a clear order of work.

You receive the written report, the ranked plan and the AI search record. The walkthrough call follows the delivery, at a time you pick, with whoever will make the fixes.

The report also records checks that needed no action and what the available data did not allow me to conclude.

Coverage and limits are part of the report.

On large sites I review templates and samples of pages. I still deliver within 14 business days of data access, and I make the coverage explicit.

I separate three things.

Findings that need action. Checks with no action needed. Questions the available data could not answer.

For AI search, I record the questions asked, the service, the date and whether your site was cited. This is a dated check, not a permanent visibility score.

How I rank the work.

1

Indexing blockers.

I start with problems that stop important pages from being crawled, rendered or indexed.

2

High impact, lower effort.

Then I look for useful changes a developer or editor can make without a large project.

3

High impact, more work.

Template changes, restructuring and rewrites get an effort estimate so they can be scheduled.

Each recommendation names the affected URLs or templates and the number to watch after implementation. I explain the judgment instead of hiding it behind a score.

Before we begin.

These are the inputs I ask for when the audit starts. You do not need to grant access in the first enquiry.

This checklist stays on this page only. It does not grant access or send anything.

Earlier SEO reports are useful if you have them. I never ask you to share passwords.

The plan is for the people making the fixes.

I deliver a written report and ranked action plan, then go through both on a walkthrough call. Your developer or editor can join.

The audit does not include implementing the fixes, a backlink profile review, local SEO, Google Business Profile or ongoing monitoring. If you ask me to make the fixes, I quote that separately once the audit shows the work.
